University of Law LLM Fellowship. The American University Washington College of Law is happy to provide LLM Scholarship Opportunities to assist professionals who demonstrate financial need, superior academic achievement, and are eligible for any of the scholarships.
One scholarship category alone is open to applicants. Because funds are few, scholarships will mostly be awarded to those who apply early. These LLM Scholarship Opportunities solely apply to tuition prices. Candidates may only submit one scholarship application per category.
The American College Washington College of Law is American University’s school of law. The institution was established one block south of the Tenley Town-AU Metro station, on the western side of Tenley Circle in Northwest Washington, D.C.
The college is a member of the AALS and has full accreditation from the American Bar Association. The Washington College of Law features highly rated specialist programs in Clinical Training (#3), Trial Advocacy (#3), Part-Time Law (#5), International Law (#7), and Intellectual Property (#8). It is ranked 73rd in the US among the Best Law Schools by U.S. News & World Report.
The first law school formed by women, the first with a female dean, and the first to graduate an all-female class was Washington College of Law, which was established in 1896. According to the 2012 AUAP rankings, the college’s Master of Laws (LL.M.) program placed 13th nationwide. The Washington College of Law was ranked 47th out of the top 70 law schools in 2012 by the Brian Leiter Law School rankings for scholarly impact.
In 2008, the institution was ranked by National Jurist as the fifth-best law school for Hispanic students. Washington College of Law was ranked as the fourth-best public interest law school in the country. Among the 197 listed universities, Washington College of Law is placed 81st in the US by U.S. News & World Report. The specialized programs in trial advocacy, part-time law, international law, intellectual property law, health care law, and college clinical training are ranked third, fourth, sixth, eleventh, and twelve in the country, respectively.
However, Washington College of Law continues to provide courses in both public interest and human rights law. Scholarships are offered by the college Equal Justice Foundation (EJF) to students who do unpaid summer internships with public interest groups.
With 30% of the student population going abroad each year, the college has one of the top study abroad programs in the nation. One of the “most robust study abroad programs out of the 200 U.S. Law Schools,” according to The National Jurist in 2012.
Over 18 nations provide semester-long legal programs for students. In addition, Washington College of Law provides summer abroad programs in Chile, Turkey, Israel, Turkey, and Europe (including London, Paris, Geneva, and The Hague).

Candidates must fulfill the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for LLM scholarship opportunities:
- You must be an international or domestic student.

- Students with high academic standing and commitment to the study of international copyright law
